They're great. I like the horizontal line of the glass giving the scene more depth. I saw it and liked it prior to reading your comment of it.


Canon 5DII, Canon 27-105, Canon 17-40, Sigma 70mm macro Tamron 150-600 g2, Sigma 70-200 1:2.8, 2x teleconverter, extension tubes, 430 flash... Studio.

I used a piece of 8 x 10 frame glass to create a reflection and the fire was with zippo lighter fluid.

Make sure to allow for a cool down time so the glass doesn't break from heat stress

Most of the time it burns right out. the flames dont last long at all. I got about 5 to 8 good shots before it got to dark. But yes if it weren't to big I just blew it out. Just do a couple test burns to get a good timing.
