MSVR:Brands Hatch GP circuit

Evening all

Popped along to Brands today for the MSVR club meet and for some reason I am really struggling with this 7D/100-400 pairing. I don't know why I just cannot seem to get to grips with it, I'm wondering whether its because I am using it at 400 alot but I am increasing the ISO to try and keep my aperture arround the F8 mark so any help would be much appreciated as I know some people on here have used this combo.

Nice set Dex liking that Mini pan and really liking 7 as for 8 never new there was a Z4 racing i would have poppped up yesterday to see and shoot that.

Re your 100-400 thats the first big zoom i was looking at but went for my 120-400 Siggy and she served me well most of her life at 400mm no probs but not great wide open like my L Lenses.

Cheers Gaz, I think the Z4 was a late entry as I only found a entry list the night before and it was down as a TBC.
When using your Sigma what aperture would you try to aim for as to get the sharpest result? Hope that makes sense but unsure how to word it.

Anyone else got any comments or critique?

F8 or more if i could i did get some nice shots at wider aperture but i found closing down a bit produced more keepers plus better heat haze but that would be the same with any lens i would think

Cheers Gaz, I thought so so will keep doing what im doing and hopefully ill start improving with it.
