I posted this on the Post Processing forum as well, so please delete this if need be. I went for a walk on an absolutely beautiful evening yesterday. I really liked this sign, but facing the sign was the opposite of the sunset. Here is the original photo. (Those are bugs, my sensor is clean I swear!)

Here is the sign from the backside. Obviously the sunset is nice, but the sign is backwards!

Here is the sky I am using for the replacement.

And the final product. What do you think, is this passable as real??

So get up early and take the shot on the sunrise. Problem solved.

As long as you're messing with reality, I'd clone out the contrail. The diagonal seems to go "the wrong way" and doesn't lead me to anything of interest. It could be used as "framing", but then it chops the biker's head off and clips the mountains, too.

Overall, nice work. Thanks for sharing.

70-200L, 28-70L, 24-105L, 300L, 50, 10-17 fish, 2.0x TC
Image editing OK, encouraged, and expected. Thank you for helping me learn!

How about just flipping the original?

rent makes a great point! His method definitely works but for what its worth I actually like the OP edit even more! The new sky looks great behind that sign.

Or just shoot it from the opposite direction. It will look the same when it's shot as a silhouette, with no detail. In fact, it would have actually turned out every bit as good, if not better - without any editing.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Looks real but the contrail is too much. I would also bump exposure, contrast and saturation slightly.
