Nice! Do you see a lot of action like this? What launch pad do you live near?

I should have said that was the SpaceX launch with Eldon's telsa on board.
My front door is 63. miles (as the Pelican flies) to the Canaveral launch pad.
Once it disappeared into the atmosphere, about 2-3 min there was a very loud concussion wave that hit me in the chest

Kool! Thank you for that. That would be fun (I think?) to be able to see that from time to time. It is also interesting you hear and feel the concussion at your home.

I have went down and camped out 3 times for a closeup of the launch and all three times they canceled..this time I was unloading stuff and the neighbor ran by (with a cell phone :-D) yelling they were about to launch
I had 1 min tops to run inside and lucky I had this setup all mounted and ready.

I cant emphasize how big the concussion was.. partly because I expected none.

I was in a cabover freightliner with my dad coming into Vegas on I5 when the Henderson rocket fuel plant exploded (Pepcon). Watched the shockwave scream across the desert floor. It knocked us into the next lane when it hit. We had just delivered ..something..cant remember 5 days earlier at that plant.

How long have you lived in your current home? Do you know how often they launch a vehicle into space?

What time of day was this last launch? Love that some stars are visible! That adds the extra kick it needs.

Going on 4 years for me. There for a while they were launching pretty often. The schedule is on SpaceX web site..but it is very frustrating if you are really trying to get good photos as they will cancel and or delay for many reasons.
This one was supposed to be early but got sent up at 3:30 in the afternoon. Which is why I had completely forgot about it.

Apology's for the photo but it was a quick print for a couple of neighbors who try so hard to take good sunrise/sunset beach pics with their phone and tablets and completely suck. So I added the stars and of course the large one on the left. as they get such a kick out of it. They take photos of my photos for their Facebook friends..and those suck

That is cool. I live about 180 miles away and was able to see one space shuttle launch from my front yard which I caught with a cellphone. None since. Either clouds or bad timing.
