This is some kind of beetle flying around a plumeria in my yard. It was taken in the middle of the day and I've only done some basic Lightroom adjustments. I got very lucky with the background and the beetle flying through.

Great capture... Not an entomologist in real life nor do I play one on TV, but it appears to be a Japanese beetle.. They numbers are super high this year and they love to chew on your garden. I am certainly not a fan of theirs...

Just eating outside on the patio, and then there it was, eyeing our fish tacos and beer. Would it swoop down and steal our dinner in its talons? No, it was having a spat with a squirrel on our garage roof.

Appears to be a Red Shouldered Hawk, although I'm no expert.
