I just purchased my first DSLR. I need to purchase a camera bag. The items that I have right now are the T4i with 18-135 STM, EF 50mm 1.4 USM, Speedlite 430 EXII. Not a lot, I know. But I will slowly be adding other items such as additional lenses, filters, cleaners, etc. So, I would like the potential for growth without the bag being too large. I also want to carry my extra batteries and charger for both the camera and the flash.

I am looking at both the Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home, and the Case Logic DCB-308 SLR Camera Sling. Or are these bags just too big to start out with?

Can anyone give me their opinion on either or both of these bags??? Pros, cons, or things I just may not have thought of.

Oh, and whatever I end up purchasing, hopefully it will fit in a Harley Davidson Tour Pak;) If not, that's fine. I do have smaller bags I can use if the situation warrents it.

Thank you!!!!

The 6mdh is a very good bag. It was my first camera bag (i have 5 of them now), and has protected and carried my gear well. It does look quite boxy due to the thick padding, but i was grateful for it when i fell on top of the bag several times descending a wet, slippery hillside. My whole weight landed on the bag, which kept both my gear and my backside safe and undamaged. It is definitely not too big.

This isn't my listing, but if you are looking at Crumpler, there is one available over on Fred Miranda. It's a 7 Million Dollar home. I don't know if posting links is ok, so I won't, but it's on the first page in the buy/sell section.

Crumpler is a great bag.. but some advice.

Don't buy a bag based on your equipment. Buy a bag based on your function. Figure out what you plan to do, what you think you need to take to do it, and then a bag to hold that stuff.

I have a dozen bags, and I use different ones based on different needs. I never carry everything I have.

Thank you everyone for your time. I really do appreciate it!

I did end up purchasing the 6 Million Dollar Home. It is the one that will work best for me.
