So I was hired to do a Quinceanera shoot at which the client asked me if I did video, I usually do not but someone who I had worked with before 1 was available to do the video so I hired him to do the video. We sign the contract all is dandy. At the end of the gig he tells me it will be about 4 weeks for him to finish it, fair enough I gave him time to get it done.

Today marks 1 month from the date of the event, he does not respond to text messages or respond to phone calls at both phone numbers I have for him. A week ago he told me it would be about a week for him to get it finished. I started researching him a bit and found that he had scammed a few wedding couples and never got their video done, having worked with him before I didn't think to research him beforehand and didn't think it was going to be a problem, my fault for not doing my homework on him beforehand.

Working in an agency that gives me lots of power and resources, I have his home address pin pointed, his employer address and contact info.

What would you do if you were in my shoes???

I like handling things face to face ... especially when the other party refuses to answer the phone or return emails, however you may not be treated with a load of hospitality when you arrive. Be smart !!!

Be careful to stay within the ethics of your organisation. You could get into trouble if you abuse any power you have for personal gain.

Find his address some other way than using your internal resources, home or work. Go over and talk to him, friendly, not threatening. Ask for a copy of the raw footage, right now, and ask when the final product will be done.

Did you pay in advance?
