Very good start, it gets more fun the more you learn about it and use it.

Yeah, I moved up from a T3i to the 7d. Read the manual and practice each thing as you read about it. Worked wonders for me. I went from a SX20IS to the T3i and felt it was a greater leap than going from the T3i to 7D.

Great start, Michael.

The 7D is a great crop-camera without having to carry the bulk of a 1D3 or 4 around.

Keep practicing, read TeamSpeed's High ISO thread from start to finish, and enjoy/use the great AF you've got!

Regards,

Simon

Thanks for that, Mark.
That's the one!!!

I'm not at home, and trying to open two pages to search for the thread on this ancient, school-office PC would take about a month!

Have a good read, Michael!!!

Simon :D

Simon, I'm considering the 7D. Where is the thread you mention above to be found?;)

Darn! Should have read further! Got it...:oops:

Digital = Canon 7D, 'Super-telephoto' Canon EF28-80mm 3.5-5.6!,
Film = 2 x Canon T90s, Canon AE-1, Canon FD 400mm 4.5

Hey Wobbly(!)

Glad you found the thread.

The 7D is tremendous at fast action in reasonable light.
The crop factor gets me more pixels on target with affordable FL lenses, which makes framing and AF easier, IMHO.

ISO, due to a vicious AA-filter is the only fly in the ointment, which is why TeamSpeed's thread is so important....and why I now have a 6D for high ISO pro' work.

[These two cameras together are top-shelf stuff, without throwing money away!]

Cheers for now,

Simon

Hey Simon

Thanks for the reply and the link. I would really love a 1DMKIV, but who can afford one?!:D
Instead, I am convinced that the 7D is the right choice for my savings...

Digital = Canon 7D, 'Super-telephoto' Canon EF28-80mm 3.5-5.6!,
Film = 2 x Canon T90s, Canon AE-1, Canon FD 400mm 4.5
