Hello all,

Is there any experience you can share when it comes to wireless shutter release controllers?
I will need to have something like this for my trip to Iceland for Landscape photography.
Appreciate your suggestion:-)

Depends on the desired range and direction.
Can you use an optical on? RC-6 is very cheap.
Do you need radio? If you want to bring two flashes too, for other purposes, then the 600 EX-RT can double as remote release. It doesn't have to flash.

Ive got both types, and if im standing behind the camera (as in not in the shot) i much prefer the wired trype. Ive got a proper Canon one and a 3rd part one. both work just as well.

With the wireless type you need to aim it from just in front of the camera. Not a big deal but a bit less convenient IMO.

My Canon 270EXII has a wireless function as well, but you always have a 2 sec delay IIR. Its not a big deal for landscapes and non moving subjects.

There might be more info in the Accessories forum.

Which one is the wired Canon? I do not need to flash, just to release the shutter.

If you want just a wired shutter release with no timer functions, you need the RS-80N3
If you want timer functions, you will need the TC-80N3

I have the RS-80N3 as well as a generic timer one I bought off ebay, both work great.
