No:-) Real question....will not work for me...to screw and unscrew. Probably I will need to find a more comfortable neck strap...the original one is really a pain when you have MKIII and 70-200II

You're issue isn't with the strap per'se so much as the set up you're trying to use. To hang anything like the 70-200 or 300 2.8 etc off a strap you really should use the foot. You could get an AS plate that has a strap loop, or get a longer AS plate made for super telephoto lenses and use the rearmost hole to affix the BR mount, or there is the Kirk plate which looks like it has a separate hole in the front: http://www.kirkphoto.com …-200mm_f_2.8_L_IS_II.html (external link)

Took some customizing but I use a Black Rapid sling with the Carryspeed F-1 foldable mounting plate and ball head connector. There's no need to disconnect the sling when mounting to an Arca Swiss tripod head. Its very comfortable to carry around a 5D3, 24-70mm or 70-200mm all day long.

Folks, thanks for all suggestions...
Might be wrong, but I am more inclined to get a better neck strap...instead of a typical Black Rapid products.

Reason:
1. I do not want to scratch my camera with the metal element (I hear people mention this a lot)
2. I need to have an ability to use the tripod all the time. I understand there is a solution...some additional staff installed, but just do not want to do it now.

I think I will just go for something that will make me a bit more comfortable vs the original strap that I have. Would you know any comfortable neck strap?

Thanks.

Hanging a camera off your neck will undoubtedly not protect it from scratches either. I cannot even really see how the bottom of my camera will be impacted by anything on the rapid strap, but I understand the concern. Finally, just having a tripod quick release plate where you can remove the camera mount screw and replace with an R-strap ring screw allows you to use a sling strap and then unhook the strap and mount the camera to a tripod, nothing ever to remove and reattach. For those that fear that ring, there are some other options to have a secondary support strap from one of the neck strap lugs to your sling strap ring.

If you want other neck straps, go to the store link for POTN, and there are many OP tech options there, plus you support this site. :)

light_pilrim, a shoulder strap like BR, Luma, or Carry Speed will likely be a great solution for you with one of the suggestions below. I would not consider carrying my 1D + 70-200 on a neck strap of any type.

I use the BR strap for my 1Dx and 70-200II and I'll never go back to a neck strap again. I have an RSS L-plate and use a clamp to attach the BR strap. I can remove it quickly to switch over to a tripod and back.

Same here with my 1D3, but I use a loop on a lug. I have a Kirk L-plate, but it's not often attached... good solution though.

Op-tech utility loop. Works fine for my gripped 5DII. . . .. Nothing to remove, nothing in the way,

This is similar to my solution, although I made a loop using some old strap parts (looped and bound with metal clip), instead of the optech utility loop. Like yours, when I want to take the strap off, I just use the carabiner. Nothing ever interferes with tripod connection.

Light Pilgrim like ive posted before check out Crumpler Industry Disgrace i have the Canon edition which i find pretty comfy

'' Most camera straps try to re-shape the back of your neck. Not this ergonomic puppy. Weightlifter wide, thick like a weathergirl and with a double layer neoprene neck cushion, its body-hugging contours distribute the mass of your camera evenly across your shoulders.

No irritation. No scarification. Constructed of flamed polypropylene, 900D, Air Mesh, and dual layer nylon-reinforced PVC, it’s soft where it matters but strong where it counts. ''

Look at the POTN Optech. I have half a dozen and love them;

Just FYI, that gawdy Crumpler is a hard to find special addition. The normal product comes in nice color options, black and some dark olive and khaki.
The actual product would not be loud at all.

I agree, I had one of the bright red Canon ones and sold it. Doesn't CPS make one as well or am I confusing it with the Op/Tech one?
