Hey guys, just thought you might enjoy this video that i put together mostly yesterday, for the West Virginia 150th birthday celebration video contest. It was for teens in high school and, apparently they decided that the best time to send out notifications for the contest, was 10 days before the deadline.
I had a 2 minute maximum, and I think it turned out to be around 1 minute, 59 and 3/10 seconds!

(be sure to click the 'HD' setting!)

Enjoy! :)

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

Thanks! :D
I used a combo of the 5D Mark II, 100-400L, 100mm f2.8L, 17-40L, and 60D.
I may have also used a T2i or T1i somewhere... A good chance of an 18-55IS as well.

As far as editing goes, I used Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
I used JewelBeat for music, and I love how the clip turned out with that music. ;)

Pretty cool. I thought you hung on to a few of the shots for a bit long and it was a shame to have to include still images but the time lapse stuff was outstanding. Pretty darn good though. ;-)a

Thank you; I totally agree on some of the shots being too long. While editing, it made sense. Now I wonder why I let them go so long, but what is done is done. ;)

And I agree wholeheartedly on the stills! They are a pet peeve of mine, when inserted in video. I tried to minimize the damage though, by making them 16x9, then doing a zoom on them in the final output... I hate that they are there, but they almost needed to be. I covered a section up with them that I thought could need a property release... Turns out that I wouldn't have, but I had already submitted it.

I'll find out Wednesday who won the competition; I'm hoping so bad that it's me! If I win, I'll root the Kindle Fire, and turn it into a LV display for my camera. If there isn't much lag, maybe I'll try to mount it as an external video monitor.

I've never had a monitor yet, so I've honed my skills on focusing using the LCD while shooting. Rock the ring to the left until OOF, rock it back to the right until OOF, then drop it in the middle at the sharpest point. I'd say it takes me max 4 seconds to hit focus using the 5D II LCD on a live performer; it takes some practice, though!
