When moving files into photoshop from bridge and then opening it in PS, only partial image is there, the other portion is checker board squares. The whole image should appear. Have no idea how to rectify and why this is happeneing .

Need help... Thanks

When you saying "moving" are you just clicking the image to open in PS, or doing something else?

In order to move from Bridge to PS, you right click on the image and open with photoshop, it's the default

I am a little bit confused too Bianchi about what you are running into. Like Kjonnnn I use PS very frequently along with bridge. My images are RAW, but I just left-double click the image in Bridge and it opens in PS completely. I have no idea what the checker board pattern is.

Are you able to perform any actions on the open file?

hMMM.....totally stumped by this.

Is this a really huge image, RAW or JPG? I wonder if your machine is running out of memory, or perhaps you have a mask or layer over part of the picture.

Sounds like your video card may not be rendering the complete image.
Does the entire image eventually appear? If you save a small raw file and open it in the same manner does it work as expected or is a small raw file problematic too?

Are your video drivers up to date? Updating the drivers might be a good place to start.

I am on my laptop, going to switch to my Desktop, plenty of Horse power there. I'll see what happens there.

Checkerboard = transparency. So this sounds like a bug if all you're doing is opening an image.
My guess would be some graphics related bug as well.
