Odie just turned 5 yrs old. I got him from a lady that said it was either her fiance or the dog. She chose the fiance!

As it turns out, I believe Odie had been abused and spoiled at the same time. He thought the house was his to do with as he pleased. Jumping on furniture, etc. His first night home he growled at me (I believe he was just scared). While going for a walk Odie belly flopped when a child was hitting a stick on the ground. Other things like this lead me to believe he had been hit in the past. I have trained dogs all of my life, and all of the signs were there.

After two months of training and bonding - Odie is the best dog I have seen come out of a bad situation! He loves me ... he asks before getting on the couch ... I can walk him without pulling ... and he is just a joy to be around. I can honestly say - in two months I have come to love Odie, and the Boxer breed!!

Anyway ... here is some of Odie ....

And now a very happy Odie ... is it me, or can you actually see it in his face?! :)

I can definitely see it in his face in the last capture Debi......no doubt about it!
The others, well he's just being a dog sniffing the air :) j/k....he's very handsome and I'm glad you've convinced him to be civil.
Best of luck to you both and bring us more captures.

He is a very handsome boxer these along with the German Shepherd are my favourite breed, although we have ATM a German Shepherd, Bichon Frise, Yorkshire Terrier. Our Shepherd had been ill treated when we got her last July at 7 months old, she had been starved and beaten and now she is just gorgeous although still a little under weight and she has suffered from stunted growth.

Wonderful and heartwarming shots. We rescue Maltese and Maltese-Mix dogs and can relate to your suspicion of Odie's previous mistreatment.

We have one Maltese who has been in our home for three years and has received nothing but love from us. However, she will still duck her head when I forget and pet her from above. I make it a point to approach her and start stroking her under her chin. She loves that...
