I recently received an email from B&H regarding the introduction of this lens. . .it is impossibly expensive, but I guess we can dream about such things. After reading this review http://www.andyrouse.co.uk/index.php?page_id=174 (external link) I really started to think for a minute about mortgaging my house. If nothing else, the photos were beautiful and the text was entertaining.

There are a couple of threads about this very interesting but very expensive lens already. General feeling is that it should hopefully drop in price, but not to a level that 99% could afford!

As far as Andy Rouse goes, always good to read his site / blog. Hoping to book up one of his workshops this year.

That's why I post so frequently on this forum. Everyone is so quick to point out your stupidity or your inability to research every comment you might want to make before you make it. So refreshing and positive. . . .

The comment to which you refer was in no way nasty or demeaning. All he did was point out there are other threads regarding this lens, some probably close to two years old, as it seems like eons since this lens was actually announced.

Hideously expensive, but cool, for sure. I want one.

I don't think gasrocks would have made that comment if you hadn't listed your location in the way you did. I would have assumed you'd have taken it light-heartedly.

Sheesh, the thing is the size of a telescope. He got some great shots with it. Once I've won the lottery I will be picking one up.

I hope that wasn't a dig at me, I was just pointing out that there is already a thread going if you want to know more.
