I ran 6400 ISO for some that I just took. Had to go that high to get a high F/ to get some depth on the image. Thanks to Lightroom, I was able to recover the image somewhat.

Typically i've never gone over 400, for these 800 seemed to be sufficient, lately been pushing it past 1600 since 800 didn't look so bad noise wise, not wanting to push too hard since all i use is canons dpp and the noise reduction isn't that great on the software. I have the lightroom trial software just been too busy to really play with it.

Definitely play with the noise reduction in LR 5 Beta. I have a lot more confidence in taking high ISO shots simply because of it's capabilities. When I get home tonight, I will post my 6400 ISO shots of flowers. I just upgraded my FlickR account to let me upload more photos this morning.
I was shocked at how well LR dealt with the noise at the higher ISO.
