Midwest Rock-N-Roll Express Tour (Styx, REO, Nugent) - Grand Rapids, MI 5.14.13

Only my second arena show ever and by far the easiest show I've shot. Everything was so brightly lit, I didn't have to struggle with lighting or high ISO's like I usually do in the smaller venues.

Only problem was that there was no photo pit...just a row of seats up against the stage. Security had these tiny sectioned off 3x6ft wedges they stood in along the front of the stage, so we all had to cram inside of those. Luckily i'm 6'6", so I just stood at center stage and was able to shoot above the stage monitor in front of me while the other photogs battled it out for good positions.

Thanks René! I was worried about overusing my fisheye at this show but couldn't help it. The stage was so big!

I saw this show last fall, but they wouldn't let my DSLR in, and I didn't take my P&S

yeah that shot of The Nuge (#6) is awesome!

Great work! #6 is great, but I also really like #7. #5 also works well for me. The colours on #4 are too crazy for me, I have difficulty focussing...

Love number 2 and 5 man!! Well done on your first arena shoot!
