Weren't the Liberty ships the ones that were built faster than anything else? They cranked them out in a week or two, or something crazy like that...

It's hard to get shots of the ship I'm on, but I was able to get pics of the ships that replenish us at sea. :) Kind of an old shot. I should restitch these shots again.

And the tug that pulled us out in Okinawa.

Yeah, something like that. I recall a History or Discovery channel show I watched and the show mentioned some unbelivable short time frame for the construction of the Liberty Ships.

Here is my attempt at the USS Elrod as a pano. I was using a point and shoot at the time since I did not want to travel with my 300D during training for work.

Great shots from everyone...
here are my two. The first is the ship in which we went to Antarctica. The second is the same ship but in the foreground is an old abandoned whaling boat.

Thanks, it was a really amazing trip. I would recommend it to anyone who ever gets the chance. There are some more pictures at http://www.drandmrsrock.com/antarctica.html (external link) if you are interested. The odd boat - no trains... :)
Cheers,

Wow some really great pictures of boats and other craft on here. Sorry I have't been around to even comment for the last few days. Mrs. Jello and I have been remodeling our kitchen, we've been putting in new kitchen cabinets in a 35 yr our old home, that of course was just thrown togther back then. So you can imagine ALL the problems we've been running into. Have a great day all..Love the boats!!
