I'm searching for an extra CPL filter for the 16-35 II and 24-70 II. Both have filter size 82 mm. So I'm looking for a slim filter. All ready have an Lee CPL105. I use this filter when using (G)ND filters (on the holder)

I know the slim filter has a bad filter hood. This is no problem for me.

When searching the net I saw many different descriptions of the B+W CPL 82mm filters. What CPL filters are there from B+W ?

I saw the:

  • B W Circular Pol Käsemann MRC NANO XS-PRO Slim 82E mm
  • B+W Polarisatie Circular Filter 82mm MRC Nano XS Pro

Are these filters the same ?

As far as I know, there is only one BW MRC Nano filter so I would guess they are the same... though now I see you put an E after the 82 so maybe that E means something. I checked on google but cant find any one about there being two versions. Try looking at the pics to see if there are any physical differences. Also what do you mean "the slim filter has a bad filter hood"

I used to use a Hoya 82mm Slim CPL filter on my 16-35, worth checking out, cheaper than the B+W too.

I'd highly recommend that you check out the Marumi Super DHG CPL's found here... (external link)

They're ultra-thin and are consistently rated as being as good or in some cases better than the much more expensive Heliopan and B+W CPL's for much, much less money. The Marumi 82mm at 2filter.com is about $99. The B+W 82mm Kaesemann are about $250, I highly doubt you'll see a $150 difference in IQ between the Marumi and the B+W. I have Marumi's CPL's for all of my lenses.

I ordered a Hoya HD slim filter. Unfortunately the B+W where not in stock in the most shops in NL. And I was getting a nice discount on the Hoya. Hoya it is. :D

I use normally a Lee CPL105. The Hoya will not be used that much ;-)a

Just an FYI... I read that many of the Hoya's are no longer made in Japan (Philippines). I don't know if that necessarily means a hit in quality or not but it is something to be aware of.
