that's cool.

i'm guessing you recorded each in a way that the volume would be consistent?

Very cool. Someone on POTN once said that all the Rebels sound like squeaky mouse traps. I didn't believe it until I went home and listened carefully to my T2i O_o

I actually like the squeak of the T2i as that was the first dslr I got. Now I've got a 7D which I've never machine gunned and I have my 5D3 set on silent shutter for wildlife and I very rarely machine gun that either, but it is slower with silent shutter set. The 1Dx is unbelieveable, must have an awesome mechanics.

Its interesting how the Rebels before the T4i had the squeaky sound with regards to the shutter. Amazing that over the years the shutters have different distinct sounds for all of the other bodies though.. I mean you'd think that the xxD line would sound more or less the same, but even those are quite different.

Neat sound compilation for sure :)

Don't have one, but T4i still has some high pitch to it, by my ear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe5NLkBNbxw (external link) It is a lot better though.

Very cool! I miss the sound of the 10D...it was kind of "soothing" haha...the Rebels always sound like a tiny sneeze to me...I can always tell when someone's shooting a Rebel in a crowd...and this made me miss my 1D3...I rarely used it on 10 fps, but when I did...man it was fun. :D

I suppose one of these days we'll be seeing firmware hacks to customize the sound of our cameras.
