Could someone ID this bird for me. Photographed at Fontenelle Forest Wetlands, Bellevue, Nebraska.

Thanks!

KC

If it was teensy weensy and didn't hold still for more than a nanosecond then the eye ring might suggest a first year Ruby-crowned Kinglet. And BTW Kris, that's a pretty darn good capture of one if that's the case.

I'm going to opine that it is a least flycatcher, although I could be wrong........

Checkout 'Least Flycatcher', it has a bold eye-ring like the one in your photo.

Thanks guys. I was going assume it was some sort of flycatcher but I am terrible at identifying those types of birds.

Great shot regardless of the ID.

Kris
Looks like you have an Arcadian Flycatcher: Arcadian Flycatcher (external link)

I was able to quickly identify this using this website: Birds of Nebraska (external link)

I'm glad you identified where it was located, that helps with all species.

I like your image. Very good job of catching the bird while showing a portion of its environment. Good work.

Nice job on such a small subject. I love little "squeaky birds" as my dad calls them.
