I just started using it for the purposes of assembling a group 'meeting' to discuss a project. It worked well for that. I haven't heard about any seo consequences of the account, but that's an interesting possibility.

I use it. Personally I think it is a much better website for photos compared with facebook. They look better and I hear (never used) they actually have decent editing software for people who use P&S and don't have editing software.

I really like that you can choose who you follow (and you don't necessarily have to be friends with those you choose to follow). I also like that you can group your friends... and make posts only to specific groups, or only share certain galleries with certain people. That said, Facebook is still the most widely used social media site now as far as I'm concerned (never searched for actual data to prove this)... but I like many of the G+ features better.

So Google with Auto Enhance images you upload. It actually looks pretty amazing. Try it. Then view your image and click the "Enhanced" button in the upper left to toggle between enhanced/unenhanced.

I haven't seen a lot of people or companies use it yet. Maybe it will get more popular as google shoves it down everyones throats by incorporating it with almost every single product they make. The video studio I work for has it and we don't seem to get a lot of traffic to it or from it. It just kind of sits there. I'm sure google has implemented some way for it to have some SEO perks so that people would be more likely to use it.

I use it so google reviews appear below my website listing in the search results. It's hard to get customers to actually use it though, to write reviews.

Yes, google+ helps in SEO. They are all integrated together. Will definitely recommend you to sign up for a page.

It can help with SEO because a) you'll get links to your site/blog from Google+ and b) your Google+ posts will start showing up in the search results. And another nifty little thing is that when someone searches for your photography business name in Google, your profile will pop up next to the search results, along with your latest post.

In general, I like Google+ over Facebook. Just has a cleaner appearance. The numbers are lower than Facebook, but it's slooooowly gaining traction!
