I have a mac mini. I use it for Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and server duties. If I were you I would wait a little longer until they releas the mini with the new Intel Chips, not becuase I am big Intel fan...but becuase all of the new programs run Universal Binary which is different from the current PowerPC.

Long story short... wait a little longer (and consider the "pro" tower if you are doing any "serious work".

Also... the mini in its current form is not as cheap as you would think by the time you add 1gig of ram (only one slot), and the wireless and bluetooth card (a must for me)... as well as some more hard-drive space (external of course)... may as well jump up to the towers.

actually, the mac mini is considerably cheper than the PowerMac - you would still need to add ram to it and the price point is quite a bit higher.
you might consider one of the new iMacs which is *way* faster at running CS even through Rosetta.

im running a system comprable to yours (2.4 ghz P4, and 768 ram) and am running CS2 on it. ive used CS2 on a powerbook and it did well. I also used it on a mac mini in an apple store and wasnt incredibly impressed speedwise in compairison to my pc. if i were you, and were going to go mac, id as least go for the Imac G5. keep in mind if you get the mac mini you'll also need a external hard drive to have good storage.

Why Mac Mini ? At the same price you can get second hand PowerMac G4 Dual Processor 1 or 1.25 Ghz ( mirrored doors ) and use your ( from PC ) hard disks,CD/DVD recorder, audio card and maybe memory chips and of course your monitor on this Mac machine. Tiger, Photoshop CS2 and iLife will work perfect on this computer. Mac Mini is toooo slow, and you can't upgrade it. And welcome to real different macintosh world.
