Mac! I only got my new iMac two days ago but I am already in love with the OS X. So much better than Windows imo.

Perhaps late to this conversation, but I just bought a fully loaded iMac 27" and it's a pretty incredible machine! While speedwise not comparable to a high-end tower PC, it's such a pleasure to use because it's such a refined tool. Makes the process enjoyable. IMO worth the ticket price for simplicity. Sometimes ignorance is bliss

Hackintosh. Less expensive PC parts, experience of building your own PC, then installing Mac OSX? A dream come true!

I bought a PC in April (i7, 32gb Ram, 2TB HD & 27" monitor) and it came with windows 8. I just couldn't get the hang of it and figured if I'm going to learn a whole new system, it's going to be Mac OSX. So...I sold my 3 month old (really fast) computer and have ordered a 27" iMac and a MacBook Air. So far I've only gotten the MacBook Air and I love it! Can't wait for the iMac to get here now!

Yup. I have four of them, and I finally bought a real Mac Pro eight way.

It's not real hard when you build a simple machine Hackintosh (my PP machine), but once you start adding multiple video cards (which as you know are mostly variants from ASUS, Gigabyte, XFX and so on, with different types and numbers of ports than the original Mac), there can be really annoying problems, especially if your hardware is a dual boot WIndows machine. For example: if I set up Windows 7 64 with an Eyefinity 3x1 display, the ports I need to use don't match the ports OSX wants to use, so I use an OSX-friendly port arrangement - and while OSX has no problems, and always seems to work well, it's always an adventure finding out which way W7 will arrange its windows when it starts. Now, you might think this is a nit, but I'm primarily a musician, and my DAW is on Windows. When you are recording music, it's a real issue to have the equipment intervene in the process...by the time you get it all running correctly again, you've probably lost any sort of inspiration you might have had.

It just became a PITA. Now the only thing the two systems share is the monitors. The next step is to migrate Windows with Boot Camp so I can get rid of the windows box altogether.

yeah, windows 8 was/is a huge mistake on MS part.
