Stumbled upon this guy the other day. I had no idea what it was and thought it was funny how he always looked up. Only managed a couple of photos before he flew off. Hopefully I'll see him again.

Lovely shot Travis and yes that is exactly what this bird was doing. The bittern is a master stealth hunter and will actually sway in synch with the reeds in order to blend in while it is searching for prey. They are a very dificult bird to spot in the field. Below is one of the only shots I have of one and I would have never spotted it if it were not for a group of bird watchers who were kind enough to point him out to me. Sony RX10 M4
