I posted a few of these shots in other random sharing threads, but I am really looking for how to improve my skills. For these I have done minimal processing in DPP (landscape style and sharpening on the RGB tab). Please tell me what would make these shots better. Thanks so much for your time.

I love #2 and 4! (Although I might clone out the white spot in the middle of the image)

I'm not expert, but I'll give my critique based on what I've learned.

2 looks a bit soft to me, as does #1. Looks like you were shooting in bright sunlight, so you have a lot of harsh shadows. #1 has a busy background, and the flower is centered, might try cropping it so it isn't. #3 just has the tip of the petal cut off but other than that I like it. I like #5 but I kind of wished you'd focused on the tulips closest to you. I'm focusing more on the bright yellow tulips that are out of focus instead of the whole garden.

Just my opinion.
1 I would re crop. Agree with grism that it is too busy. Maybe crop out the flower extreme right moving the yellow flower off Center while still the main focal point.
2. I like and 3 would be my favourite had you not cut off the tip of the rear leaf. Maybe clone the tip in ? .
4 as already mentioned re the white spot.
5. Just doesn't work for me. The yellow tulips draw your eye and being out of focus ruin. What would have been a great shot.
John.

Thank you for your time! 1 & 2 may be a bit soft. :/ They were shot with the nifty fifty wide open. For #5...I have a similar shot posted below...is that better?

Thanks for the suggestion on the crop of #1. I will try that.
It's a bummer I cut the tip off in #3

Thanks, John for the feedback. I will try a crop on #1 and see if I can clone a tip into #3 (I'm bummed I didn't catch that!) The white spot can be cloned out as mentioned. Those were the signs that identified the different varieties..

Here is a different shot similar to #5...does it work better?
