Awesome. I've wanted to go there for a couple years now. Hopefully will go before the end of this year.

Did you use a monopod/tripod? I've read they don't like set ups very much, but I guess it also depends on how crowded it is.

Thanks All...

Nobody said nuthin' about using a tripod although all of these were shot hand-held in HIGH FPS on a MkIV.

I asked one of the Rangers if Bodie had ever been entirely abandoned and was surprised to learn that there had been at least one person living there continuously from its founding in the late 1850's until the state bought the land for a park in the early 1960's. There are at least three buildings occupied to some degree by Rangers during accessible months but (I assume) Mother Nature defends Bodie quite well during the winter months. I know I wouldn't dare try to drive those 17 miles in a typical Sierra storm!

Great shots!

It's definitely frozen in time. Glad they're keeping it preserved. Like you said, the winters do a lot to keep traffic down.
