I suppose everyone knows the story how the London Bridge was sold, disassembled and re-assembled in Lake Havasu City, AZ. This took place in the sixties, and I have only now gotten around to seeing it.

Nice shot.

However, there's nothing in the water to hold my interest, so why include it? Try cropping just at the base of the left-most column of the bridge and see the entire mood of the image change. Greater emphasis on the bridge and the sky.

Actually, as I recall, the coolest thing is that there was NO Lake Havasu; it was just barren desert. They reassembled the bridge and then diverted the river to run under it and formed the lake!

Nice angle on the shot.

Nice shot, I would also cut out quite a bit of the water as suggested.

I think the inclusion of the water balances the shot. When I scroll up down so that most of the water is off the screen, the bridge looks funny (at least to me). The only thing I might do is rotate it a bit so that the shoreline beyond the bridge is level. Nice shot, Stan!

Thanks for all the comments. Actually, Lake Havasu was formed when Parker Dam was built in 1938. There was no island at Lake Havasu City until Mr. McCullough, who owned most of the land around there, bought the bridge and placed it there. He then had a channel dredged to form an island, with the bridge crossing from the mainland to the island.

Apparently Robert McCullough was under the belief that he was buying Tower Bridge when he purchased the London Bridge.

Again, I appreciate all the feedback. I'm sure we can all agree there is more than one way to view a scene. That's what makes it art, rather than science.
