I suppose everyone knows the story how the London Bridge was sold, disassembled and re-assembled in Lake Havasu City, AZ. This took place in the sixties, and I have only now gotten around to seeing it.

They reassembled the bridge and then diverted the river to run under it and formed the lake! Rich B

Becca Lady in Red More info | Jan 19, 2006 06:24 | #5 I think the inclusion of the water balances the shot. When I scroll up down so that most of the water is off the screen, the bridge looks funny (at least to me). The only thing I might do is rotate it a bit so that the shoreline beyond the bridge is level. Nice shot, Stan! Becca

Actually, Lake Havasu was formed when Parker Dam was built in 1938. There was no island at Lake Havasu City until Mr. McCullough, who owned most of the land around there, bought the bridge and placed it there. He then had a channel dredged to form an island, with the bridge crossing from the mainland to the island. Stan (See my gallery at http://www.pbase.com/sparker1

Everyone has a photographic memory. It's just that some of us don't have any film...

I'm sure we can all agree there is more than one way to view a scene. That's what makes it art, rather than science. Stan (See my gallery at http://www.pbase.com/sparker1
