At the start of 2011, my wife and I decided to finally pursue our dream of travelling - we sold our home, she quit her job, and we hopped on a plane with just our backpacks. After spending one year traveling the world in the past two years, I'm excited to finally share a short visual preview of our travels:

Awesome!! I normally think people's videos are too long; yours is too short! I wanted it to keep going. Keep taking me on these fantastic voyages. In a way, it actually pained me to watch. I have a great life and have lived more than most but, I am now so tied down to my home that I fear my great adventures are over. You sir, are the man!

Very inspiring!

Will there be a longer version to come in the future? I sure hope so!

Awesome work!

Utterly fantastic!! :) Inspiring video that makes you want to go out and see our amazing world for what it is. The composition and angles for the takes between cuts were engaging for sure. I just wish it was longer.

Hmm, maybe I should quit my job and travel too?

Thanks everyone for your comments!

I apologize for the late reply, after I posted the video, I've been moving into a new apartment which unfortunately still doesn't have internet access, so I haven't been able to follow up here. I'll try my best to reply to everyone:

Hot Bob: Sell your house and keep the adventures going! :P "Too short" has really been the biggest comment so far. I guess I better get to going through the other 3TB of footage and putting some more videos together!

Trumper: Yup, less is more... in most cases ;) I initially was going to edit a 3 min version, but I thought a 1.5min version would be better for the first release.

GeminiZ: Maybe not a longer version exactly, but I'm hoping to share some more adventures from the trip with individual videos (say one from just Mongolia, or India, etc).

North Dude, romanv: Love hearing that. I was very much inspired by a TV show called Departures which is all about travel (and has some of the best travel cinematography I've seen). If my short video inspires you to get out and see the world, I've done my job ;)

outmywindow, Headspin, Rushmore, Madwrench, kuvhmoob: Thanks! Longer version? checkmark ;)

mystic97z: The song is listed in the Vimeo description. It was licensed by Peter Mcisaac Music, song name: Light Speed.

Rhinotherunt: Cheers! The opening shot was done on a Glidecam 1000HD. Lots of technical stuff written on the vimeo page (external link).
