Very inspiring!

Will there be a longer version to come in the future? I sure hope so!

Awesome work!

Ditto on that. Loved every second.

Thank you! Your more than welcome. There is a lot of different type of stabilizers that you can use out there, just finding the one that fits the bill and does the job correctly.

Ouch, thats a tough question. We were 'semi' good with keeping our expenses, but well, never really did a good job. I've been meaning to go back through my accounting and tally it all up. We did 4 trips in total, so it's hard to tell.

Just to echo the other comments here: absolutely fantastic!

Could I ask what picture style you used, and did you grade the footage?

Amazing footage, I really loved every single second of that short video. If only all those travel shows had cinematography like this.. But I guess most people are not as talented or they simply have to rush their shooting/editing. I could watch this for days! Thanks for inspiring me, this is the kind of stuff I would love to shoot one day. :)

EDIT: Also thanks for bringing up 'Departures', really enjoying those episodes!

ronaeg, chris21908: Thank you!

JoYork: Cheers! Hmm honestly, the picture styles were switched up quite a bit depending on what I was shooting. I generally did my own mix-match of styles (creating my own by adjusting sharpness, contrast etc), generally keeping contrast to a min so I could grade my footage in the end. So yes to answer your last question, all the footage has been graded, definitely not straight out of the camera.

I'm working on a underwater reel from when I spent 1.5 months in the Philippines doing my divemaster training. Everything underwater was shot on a S95 with no external lights, so I'm having a heck of a time grading the footage so it looks good, but for what it is, I'm actually quite happen with the outcome. That should be online shortly.

JoeyH: Thank you! I did spent quite a lot of time putting this together. It was quite the process of going through all the footage, and there is still so much more. Btw, did you mean "Departures" instead of Adventures?

I meant Departures indeed (fixed it), no idea why I wrote Adventures haha.. Btw I forgot to ask one thing. That aerial shot at around 0:07, was that taken from a helicopter or a UAV/drone? I assume the former, a UAV is probably not that easy to get while traveling :)

Ha no worries, Departures, Adventures same thing!
There are actually two aerial shots (the other at 0:21), both are done in none other than in a hot air balloon over the Maasai Mara.

That never crossed my mind! Now it all makes sense, haha. Really liking those aerial shots, loved the composition of the one with the jeeps, hence I asked. Another shot that makes me go 'wow' is the himalaya (right?) shot at 0:55.

What I would probably struggle the most with in the process of making videos like this, is the music.. It's really hard finding any good music that sets a certain mood. Any tips?
