Hope this one catches on.

It's styled after the "Photo Below Me" thread.

Based on Micheal Freeman (external link)'s Course on Composition.
https://dg512340.wordpress.com …-contrast-in-composition/ (external link)

EDIT 2016: Sorry, the original link to the course has been changed to Chinese. I'll try finding a new one.

Rules:
1. Post 2 photos that show the contrast listed at the bottom of the post above you.

2. Pick a contrast-pair for the next poster.

3. Photo may be old or new, but must be yours.

4. If the post above you forgot #2, then it's your choice.

Some examples contrast-pairs here, borrowed from the link above. For the contest, feel free to get inventive; you're not limited to physical contrast. Subjective contrasts like mood work too; like happy/sad, pensive/exhilarated, etc.

Large/small
Long/short
Thick/thin
Black/white
Many/few
Pointed/blunt
Smooth/rough
Still/moving
Transparent/opaque
Liquid/solid
Strong/weak
High/low
Broad/narrow
Light/dark
Much/little
Straight/curved
Diagonal/rounded
Hard/soft
Light/heavy
Continuous/intermittent
Sweet/sour.

I'll start:

Direct/Indirect

Love the exposure on the first picture. You shot it directly with the sun and nothing was blown out. Good work.

The post below me will show Strong / Weak contrast.

.

.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
