Focus with a spotting scope

I bought an attachment to connect my G2 to a Celestron C90 spotting scope. Besides focusing the scope on the object, what should I do about the focus on the G2? Has anyone also done any night shots at the moon or Saturn?
What settings did you use?

Hi Al,

I regularly do photos with my G2 and my 8" Meade. Some turn out pretty good. I have taken photos of the moon, Jupiter, and the Ring Nebula (M57) in the constellation Lyra.

On the moon, set your ISO at ISO100 or ISO50. Use the Manual mode.

On Jupiter and Saturn, use Manual and set your ISO at 200-400.

On deep sky objects set your ISO at 400 also use manual.

DSOs are hard to do because they are faint in the scope, and as a result, it is hard to see them on the LCD.

You've got to practice, practice, practice....then you have to...practice.
