A mixed bag from last weekend.
March fly, loads of these about at the moment.
Dung fly
Scorpion fly (male)
Alder fly
Earwig
They do have wings and they can fly if they need to, apparently.

I am not so sure those little wings would carry that large bug anywhere but straight down. I actually like the detail on whatever leaf they were on as much as the earwig itself. Name is Ron.

The earwig was on an unopened poppy head. George
