Hi guys/gals, has anyone on here dealt with Ryther Camera in NJ? I see they have 5d3's for sale for $2400 body only. Just curious about their shipping especially to Canada and their customer service.

Thanx in advance for responses!

A while back I was looking at stuff on their site. Search their site for a 5D Mark III USA and you will see it for $3299 (Canon SLR EOS 5D Mark III - (Body Only) USA Retail Kit). I do not know for sure just speculating here but would assume the one for $2419 is grey market.

"Canon EOS 5D Mark III Digital Camera (Body Only) - IMPORT" This is what they have listed under the description. They are also not listed as an authorized Canon dealer. So they may sell their cameras for cheap, but you also don't have any warranty.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

That site used to be worthwhile but is now generally just spammed with positive reviews from unscrupulous people. Just check the date and comments. No way are the getting that many reviews, almost daily.

i suppose it's possible that they get a review a day on average.

i just looked at B&H and they had at least 30 reviews just on May 22nd

given that people are much more likely to complain than praise it just strikes me as odd. Who knows?

I noted a add for a Canon EOS 7D, from Ryther Camera, new at $879. Since I am looking for a 7D, I thought I would check this out. I had to pull the guys teeth to get him to admit it was gray market, from the Netherlands. He said if I had a problem I could ship the camera back to the Canon Service Center in the Netherlands, for service. He do go on to say I could buy a 7D with US warranty for $1199. I figure my old 50D is working great, and will wait until the first of the year to see if Canon updates the 7D as rumored. I may buy another 50D as a backup body though.
