Good for you. We looked for them in the panhandle last winter and, while we found plenty of holes, we did not connect.

These are located in Babcok/Webb WMA which is down in toward Ft Myers/Punta Gorda area. Best time to locate at nesting sites is at sunrise before they move out for day. Spent a week of my winter up in your area Sax Zim chasing owls.

Congrats on catching this rare one, there are some in southern Virginia, very well looked after and monitored. Plus three on one tree, thats a great sight to see, Well done!

Excellent. I've only seen one. It flushed out of a nest hole as I approached the colony around dusk. Lots of marked trees around our winter home in Florida and next winter I'm going to make a real effort to get pictures.
