I love #2, great color. I haven't been up there this time of year in a long time.

#1 could use a little bit more contrast I think.

David, it is and is not HDR. its not HDR in the traditional sense of putting images in a software and asking it to do tone mapping. It is however two separate exposures which where layered and hand blended in photoshop.
So I think in the sense you are asking, no, its not hdr. Similar to using a grad filter, but more customizable.

Beautiful images, I love #2 and would just slightly prefer #1 with the sun reaching a bit more of the mountains :)
