I'm a CPS member for awhile and I decided to ask about a 1D X loaner. I wasn't aware it was so easy. The only problem is you don't have a lot of control over when you get the loaner. Well, mine arrived about 2 hours before a high school scrimmage so I took it and my 7D out. Did I like it? Well, I'm going to put a kidney on eBay. Here are a few of my favorites. (THe "G" touchdown image is the only 7D image.) These have been through LR4 and some are severe crops. But as opposed to my 1D III and 7D, I think some shots that are across the field could be usable.

I felt that focus was GREAT - fast and spot on. And I'm sure I'd be more pleased with a little more experience.

I can't believe it will be several months. I'm ready for a new season too!

Thanks for the comments.

He is using the Canon 300mm f/4L for all shots except for the last one. The last one was shot at 90mm f/2.8 with a 7D

Nice stuff. Love the blown tire on #2.

Great timing on #5. Too bad about the cut off foot. #3 would have been money except for the missing feet again.

I'm still looking for that balance between the turf and sky. Working on it.

Spring scrimmage before the school year ends. We won't have any more until August I suppose.

I bought my 1Dx last September and it is amazing. I was shooting at night at 8000 ISO with no problem. Almost have the funds gathered to purchase a second one since there is no reason to have a 1D mark III any more.

Looks like Copperas Cove, they scrimmage Abilene every year to begin the season so seeing them really gets me craving some football.

Very nice shots!
