So, is the dock doing this to the lens itself and the MFA in-camera can apply the settings from the camera (does the MFA in the 6D, for example, work with 3rd party lenses like this Sigma?). In other words, is the dock necessary or can MFA in-camera alone do the trick? And, I am asking, but I am also finding my Sigma 35 very sharp by default. I did MFA with my 50/1.2, however.

I was actually thinking that the dock will help to calibrate properly, but it looks like you need to find a way to calibrate and the dock will do the same as MF adjustment in your camera, correct?

I voted multiple copies, but it was only 1 extra copy. 1st lens misbehaved, 2nd is consistent and I'm happy with it.
