Hey guy, in my living room (the only part of the house that has high ceilings, and has enough space to act as a studio), I have soft carpeting. I like shooting with seamless paper, but if I put that on carpet, a model standing on it would create wrinkles and stuff all around. I want to put something on top the carpet, something hard so that the model can step on the paper over it with heels and not poke through.

I've used plexi-glass over the paper both for reflections and as a hard surface, but it gets costly. Where I'm located, it's $70 per sheet, and I need 2 to cover the area needed.

Are there any cheaper options. Better if it can be folded away and stored instead of being one giant solid sheet.

A sheet of plywood.

You could also use laminate wood flooring. It is cheap, snaps and unsnaps together easily and would be easy to store when not in use. It could also be used as the flooring in some of your photos.

A sheet of plywood is normal underlay for seamless on carpet - its cheap, light and solid.

The laminate flooring is a great suggestion too

laminate floor is a bad suggestion. when you lay out on a carpet it will fold on the seams. plywood is a better solution.

Sheet of plexi over it so the people have some reflection and don't look like they are floating.

yes, I've mentioned I use a sheet of plexi for the reflections. I just need something for underneath. I'll take a look at the suggestions these guys have made so far.
