I have been incredibly swamped but yesterday I got a break to spend a few hours birding. I went out with a goal of getting pictures of hummingbirds, grosbeaks, tanagers, flycatchers and a few raptos. Instead a went home with only one specie but still happy with it :). Shot with 7D and 400mm f/5.6

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

I'd be thrilled to come home with those too, Jo, what a beauty!

Excellent series...hard to pick a favorite but I really like #2 because of the environment in the image.

Great series! I like #6 the best closely followed by #2, but all are excellent!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Beautiful collection of Yellow Warbler images jo!
My favorite is #2 because of the sweet pose and whatever is blooming in the lovely background. That one just speaks to me.
However, #2 is followed closely by the 2 singing images #6 & #7. You can see the tongue better in #6, but the focus is a little crisper to my eye in #7.
Aww heck, there all winners! Excellent job!!
