I'm starting to think about what I'd like to name a business and also looking at available domain names. I know the [first name][last name] + [photography, photos, images, studio, etc.] is a popular choice but most of the domain names that involve my name or initials have already claimed the .com. I know I can use a .net or other but I'd rather not have second pickings. I've tried many, many, combinations of my name, intitials, and a "photo word" and most already have the .com taken. I don't know what my level of concern should be with that.

My first name is Whitney and it's meaning is "from the white isle / island" so I was thinking about using something like White Isle Photography (which is also an available domain). Sort of a backdoor approach to using my name.

Another idea I had was 545 Photography. My 3 kids were born in the months of April and May so that has personal significance to me and is also available in domain-land.

Last name is Anderson. I could do the initial thing: WCA Photography but it just seems kinda.......blah. Plus there's an athletic facility that is known as the WAC locally. Too close for my preferences.

Seeking ideas and opinions. Thank you.

I sort of like White Isle Photography because it's easy to remember & easy to spell. Nobody has ImagesByWhitneyA.com yet.

Thank you. I think I have a personal hang-up about __________by Whitney. Too many hair houses with names like that. LOL

White Isle Photography - it is different so you will stand out. It conjures beautiful/romantic visions (good for portraits, weddings etc - not so good if you are planning to shoot MMA fighting/sports). Plus there is an interesting story about where the name comes from. Way better than the other options.

I used my three daughters' initials... I like the idea of the 545 you had, or see if their initials work.

honestly... it doesn't matter..
your name doesn't take pictures.. you do.. nobody cares what your name is...
I was in your shoes.. then read this article.. I had my name in 20 minutes after reading it..

what I am getting at is that your name does not matter.. you take those photo's.. it's you they come to for your skill and artistry, you already have your name, and some good ones but, it's YOU that are being sold, because YOU offer more than what they can get anywhere else..

Be careful about people who might spell 'Aisle" instead of "Isle". You can always shorten your .com to be something easier - perhaps shotbywi.com that is easy to say and spell. When I tell people my email address, the only possibility for misspelling would be spelling Jacob with a K or Photo with an F. If someone can't figure that much out, I'm probably better off not receiving their emails.

Jacob has a point, though I've seen more people that spell "aisle" as "isle". Probably depends on which part of the country you're in.
