Hi all,

The sapsuckers have been loving my trees. There are three yellow-bellied sapsuckers that are constantly in my backyard. I love these birds to practice with as they are speedy little things.

I would appreciate any feedback on ways to improve for next time.

They're awfully pretty birds aren't they J, and I can tell from your trees that they've been around before. :)
There's nothing wrong with these captures at all. They do a great job of showing the sapsucker in it's natural habitat. If you're interested in better detail in your captures, you should try to get as close as possible as a first step. We'd love to see the results when you do!

Therein lies the rub. I get absolutely no detail when I move closer, because they fly away. I need to improve my sneakiness, I guess.

I will try to improve my patience and maybe even experiment with a tripod / remote shutter.
