Strap or belt clip? Which one and why?

After a 2.5 day event of toting by 6D with either the brick or 70-200 and at times a flash as well, I'm looking for a carry solution. I've seen black rapid and joby straps, and I like the looks of the Spider holster. I'd like to know what else is out there and what you prefer to use.

I love my Carryspeed strap. The wide neoprene shoulder pad is stretchy and comfy, the part you screw onto the camera fits into arca swiss (spelling?) tripod heads too.

I've never used a belt strap, but I'd expect it to constantly pull my pants down and pull on the belt enough to make the other side very uncomfortable. I often carry my camera bag and the camera on a strap over it, for hours hiking. No issues. Neck strap used to kill my neck and back, with the strap I don't even notice the weight.

Edit to add: the belt strap also won't work well if you have a heavy bag with belt straps like me. They take a lot of weight off my shoulders and I don't see how a belt camera carry system would work at the same time?

I suggest the Capture Camera Clip System. It goes on to a belt or backpack strap, etc. It also has a duel QR clip that can go on a Manfrotto or Arca Swiss head. https://peakdesignltd.com/ (external link)

I covered a 5 day event with a 70-200 mkII hung from a Black Rapid Sport strap and it was great. I had my Retrospective 10 on my other shoulder with my 'other stuff' that wasn't as great. Awesome bag, don't get me wrong, but was uncomfortable for consecutive long days, on my feet and moving around in crowds. So, a few days after I got home, I ordered a thinktank belt and a few pouches and this is my new set up. I keep my 70-200 hung from the strap and extra lenses and/or a flash on my belt. Weight is taken off of my shoulders and I feel a lot more mobile. Depends on what you're doing or how much you need to bring with me. I had never considered a belt system before, but definitely found the convenience in it!

I've struggled myself for many years until I took Scott Kelby's advice and bought a BlackRapid strap. The BlackRapid is the best thing since sliced bread. I carry my 50D with a 70-200 f4L around for hours at a time with absolutely no trouble. My daughter bought the one designed for ladies and loves her's as well. She shoots a 7d. You'll love it!

Another vote for black rapid! I'm a pass holder at Disneyland and lug around my 6D with the tamron 24-70 and it's heavy, but with the strap I can carry it all day without having a tired hand.

I recently had the pleasure of watching a pro use his duel spider set up with two Nikon bodies. It looked comfortable and natural for him. I spoke to him about it and he absolutely loved it. That said, I just ordered the Carry Speed FS-Pro Sling strap. I was torn between that and the Black Rapid. There were features of both that appealed to me. In the end it was the combined arca swiss style plate with a folding ball that swayed my decision.

you'll love the Carry Speed. The neoprene shoulder part is super comfy, I also have a sunsniper strap but that's a lot less comfy. Since the whole shoulder pad is stretchy it conforms to your body and bounces to reduce shock from walking with your gear.
