You can track your position and pull it up later on a map. I've never heard of anyone using this feature and hope Canon fixes it in an update so it turns off when you shut off the camera. I went out and took roughly a hundred or so pictures, again leaving the GPS on and it only went down to half battery updating every 5 minutes through out saturday and sunday.
