The photo printing business was heavily impacted by the revolution of taking photographs - from analog to digital - during 2000's. The volume of prints made in photo printing houses collapsed. Now there are strong signs that the volumes are growing again.

There are many reasons for this development: We have increasing number of digital images stored in hard discs, memory cards and camera phones. We like to share our best shots with friends and families or hang those at the wall, but viewing the pictures with computers or with digital frames is still quite clumsy. Also, the ordering of the prints online is easier than ever.

I'm currently analyzing, which are our main decision factors when we select the online printing service. POTN is one of the leading photo forums, so I trust I can get good feedback from you.

I have pre-selected 9+1 poll options. You can give as many votes as you like. Any free text comments are more than welcome!

I really prefer to have the option to download the printer/paper profile for softproofing.

For the rest: reputation, ease to order (not having to upload 20 images one by one, or using a crappy flash or java based interface), ease of payment (Paypal or CC perhaps), quality and maybe options to have prints sent.
(For instance, sometimes it might be useful to have a print sent straight to a customer, without the printers logo on the envelope or, better yet, with my logo on it)

Price is secondary, if that.

Very good thoughts, René, thanks!

Yesterday I visited one big camera/photo shop and they also confirmed that the reputation is one of the major decision factor for their customers.

Hope to get more responses. :D
