I have Lightroom 3.6 with camera raw 6.6 which cannot view, so will not import raw files from the 5D3 and Elements 10 which has raw 6.7 and has no issues with the 5D3 raw files
Can i get lightroom to use raw 6.7 - the update claims the software is up to date

You can convert the CR2 to DNG however. LR will open the DNG files just fine.

+1 to what Rene said.
New cameras often have a new format RAW file. Adobe only provide RAW file updates for their current versions (currently Lightroom 4). When Lightroom 5 launches there will be no more RAW file updates for LR4.

Users of older versions have to donwnload/use the DNG converter linked above.
