It would be churlish to criticise this photograph just for the sake of doing so. Another good 'un, Nutcase! ;)

We run out of adjectives for your photos, Dimitri. This one is excellent, as are all the others. The exposure is just perfect for the water, without any trace of over-exposure. And, the composition is very good, even if you had no other choice.

There you go,thats better now.

Actually , NO , i haven`t ,:lol::lol:,why am i loughing?
Talking about moving to the left or right?
You should see where i was standing , on a rock , in the middle of a blazing river holding an umbrella in one hand, (only a nutcase like me would do it) , so , if i had moved to the left or to the right , now i would probably be a few miles down the big seeloch.:lol::lol:

Thank you for your kind words anyway Warren.

Hah, you sound just like me. I'm always precariously perched on small rocks. How else do we get the great vantage points?
One day I'll slip and be in the drink and complaining I don't have a working 20D again.

it's beautiful Dimitri

 as you ask
I would prefer to see the water flowing naturally and not so much of it,
as it is overpowering in the foreground with such a beautiful background showing behind

I am not mad about water being frozen like this at any time anyway

but as you say you stood in the middle of the river with an umbrella in one hand
it makes it extra special
:)

I think the background hills need to show a little more height , maybe with some sky above them
you say they are huge so maybe that was not possible
but I think it may have been
raising the camera upwards instead of down (I think) :o would have been better

you can't crop the foreground as that big rock would look bad in front then

no worries , these are just one opinion and not a general view and you already know the scene is very beautiful
if you like it just like that , then that's all that matters

the colours are gorgeous also

regards, Marie

Jackie, listen love, this (and other) forum has helped me alot.
I have learned so much that you cann`t even imagine.
When i was on post 49 (like you) my photos were not half as good as they are now,(actually i have deleted quite a few photos from my website).

But what i did when i first joined was that i was constantly checking the photos all the others were posting and reading all the comments, what were the pros and cons of every photo.
I didn`t start posting photos right away (like alot of new comers do now,[and by all means they have the right to])to ask people what they think of my photos,i knew what they were worth,i wasn`t blind, they were worth s***,(pardon my French).

As an old friend used to say, keep your eyes open/your ears open/and your mouth shut.

The thing is,learn from your mistakes,DO NOT REPEAT THEM.

So , to reach an end....

The theaching power of the forum + my passion for photography = what you see today.

A word of advise to you ? Stick to the forum.;)
