I witnessed this Great Horned Owlet fall from its nesting tree a couple of days before this shot. It took more than 24 hours for it to get back into some decent height. But then a day later the big winds coming off of the river blew him back down to earth. It only took him 2 hours to get back up into the treetops and I was amazed how strong this tiny owl is, using beak, talons and wings to climb almost vertically. I watched him for the two hours but in this instance he was watching me :-)
