I tried it last night. Got denied. They said if they change anything they'll update the website.

I tried chatting with customer service as well as submitted a upgrade request (with a copy of my invoice).

Custserv turned me down, haven't heard back from the case status. Shouldn't mean we should not try. Perhaps if enough of us push for it, something may change.

$50 + $80 upgrade means you still got a good deal.

I tried the customer service route last night as well, and also was denied. Please post back if they accept your official upgrade request.

This is absurd. Wasn't that the Adobe standard to upgrade you free if within 30 days of purchase. Or that went to dogs when photoshop went to subscription??

Yep, it has been a program they've offered for a while. I also think it's more than just coincidence that they stopped offering it at the same time that Creative Cloud is launched. More ways to alienate their customers. Must be some new corporate plan.

It might have gone to the dogs when the old version was being clearanced out at 1/3 price. You guys knew it was cheap because v5 was coming out.

It was not Adobe who sold at 1/3rd price. They were still wagging the price of $100+
Personally I was not looking for LR 5 when I bought 4. But if happens to fit the time frame now, then why not..

It was not on clearance, the price has already gone back up to $109

I submitted the form for a complimentary upgrade. I got an email this morning asking for a purchase invoice (I had submitted my purchase comfirmation originally). I saved my invoice from Newegg's website and resubmitted it, and am awaiting their response.

judging from the experiences so far, it doesn't look good for me.

I wasn't looking for Lightroom 5, but as others said, if they are going to give it to me for free....why not?
