This little camera is wonderful. It'll take awhile before I "gotta have" a DSLR. This does everything a DSLR does but
-let you change lenses
-have a hot shoe (there IS a workaround for that!)
-save in RAW
I am exploring MACRO settings. My machinist next door neighbor suggested taping a jeweler's loupe to the lense to get the REALLY small shots. E.g. photograph the hub of the balance wheel on a woman's watch to check for cracks or galling.
I'd love to, but this camera retracts the lense in 60 seconds, ready or not, unless you keep adjusting something. Everything is a very close fit. The tape would cause the little plastic gears that adjust the lense to spit teeth. Is there a way to bump this up to, say, three minutes? Would really make life a whole lot easier.
Oooh! Oooh! can you think of a fixture that would make the tape unneccessary?
